Taking Conservation to a Whole New Level

Board member and donor John Honderich shares why he supports our work with Indigenous Guardians programs.

A legendary Canadian, champion for journalism, and committed father and grandfather, John was a true ally in our mission to advance solutions for nature and people.

It Comes Down to Leadership

I support Nature United because I believe in the leadership of Hadley Archer and the team. I’m impressed with their values, ideals, and leadership, which are apparent in the way they work. It enables Nature United to act as an agent to bring people together and formulate manageable plans.

Active, Involved, Engaged

Protecting lands is vital work, and Nature United goes beyond that model to take conservation to a whole new level. Collaborating with Indigenous communities, governments, and industry — bringing it all together is truly groundbreaking.

Indigenous Guardians are Critical

The Indigenous Guardians Toolkit is a great use of technology to connect and support Indigenous Guardians. When I visited the British Columbia coast, a leader with the Heiltsuk Nation told me of how computer projections and flyovers showed a complete absence of bears on one particular island. His team then went out and counted 63.

Our vision is for a Canada where people and nature thrive together.
